May 2, 2004
TAMPA, Fla. – The 2004 Hurricane Club Spring Tour came to Tampa on Thursday, April 29, with a fun and entertaining dinner and auction that raised over $5,000 to benefit the University of Miami Hurricane Club. The Hurricane Club raises money to provide scholarships for the University’s student-athletes. The event was hosted by former Hurricane standout Horace “Hi-C” Copeland who showed everyone that he can still do his signature flip. The event also featured Head Football Coach Larry Coker and Assistant Basketball Coach Barclay Radebaugh who both discussed the upcoming seasons for each program as well as participating in a roundtable discussion with “The Voice of the Miami Hurricanes” Joe Zagacki. Hurricane Club donors, UM alumni and friends in attendance were also treated to a special guest appearance by former Hurricane great Lamar Thomas who talked about his days at The U and what it means to him to be a Miami Hurricane.
The Hurricane Club would like to thank the Greater Tampa Chapter of the Hurricane Club and the Tampa Chapter of the Alumni Association for all their support and hard work.
