UM Wins Lambert Trophy for Fourth Straight Year

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami Hurricanes football team was named the recipient of the Meadowlands Lambert Trophy on Monday afternoon. The Lambert Trophy is presented annually to the best college football team in the East.
This marks the fourth year in a row that the Canes have won the award.
Miami was selected by a poll conducted weekly throughout the season by the ECAC (Eastern College Athletic Conference). Other winners were The University of Delaware in Division I-AA and Indiana University of Pennsylvania and Rensselaer Polytechnic in Divisions II and III respectively.
The teams will be presented with their awards at the Eastern College Football Awards Banquet on Tuesday, February 3 at the Pegasus Restaurant at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, NJ.
