Football Practice Report - Wednesday, September 3
Sept. 3, 2003
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (hurricanesports.com) – The University of Miami conducted a two-hour practice in shorts and shoulder pads on Wednesday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Fields in preparation for Saturday’s game with No. 18 Florida.
“We had a good day today,” Coker said. “We shortened some of the drills in order to get a little more done and I feel we got a lot accomplished. We have to be very positive tomorrow. We are working on what we feel like we will see from Florida. Obviously they have only played one game and we have only played one so there are still some uncertainties out there. We have to be able to adjust and get ourselves ready to play.”
Senior offensive lineman Carlos Joseph returned to practice on Wednesday after sitting out Monday and Tuesday with an ankle injury.
“We held him out of some things today, but I think he is going to be able to play on Saturday,” Coker said. “We expect him to play, but he will not start. We have a policy that if you don’t practice on Tuesday, you don’t start and if you don’t practice on Wednesday, you don’t play.”
The Hurricanes will return to practice on Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
Miami will host No. 18 Florida on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 8 p.m. at the Orange Bowl. For ticket information please call 1-800-GO-CANES.
