LOS ANGELES – In their second full-pad practice, the top-ranked Miami Hurricanes had another energetic afternoon as they continue to prepare for the Rose Bowl match-up against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on January 3.
“We had another physical day today,” said Miami head coach Larry Coker. “The defense really flew around well and our offense did an excellent job. We had a lot of third down work, some red zone work – a lot of specialized things today.”
The defense also continued their practice against the option in preparation for Eric Crouch, Nebraska’s electrifying quarterback and this year’s Heisman Trophy winner.
“We’ve been working on it,” said linebacker Jonathan Vilma. “We’re practicing hard, getting our assignments down – we’re going to be ready.”
Following practice, the team dined on prime rib at Lawry’s annual “Beef Bowl”.
