University of Miami team physician and orthopedic surgeon Dr. John Uribe had the following statement on the condition of UM football player Jerome McDougle:
“University of Miami defensive end Jerome McDougle fainted today during practice. Although we have not determined the exact cause as of yet, we have ruled out heat exhaustion. At this time all of his lab results are normal, and we’re continuing to investigate and evaluate his condition.”
