UM's Stewart Plays In PFA All-Star Game

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – Four-time All-BIG EAST Academic honoree Micheal Stewart (Cranston, Rhode Island) will represent the University of Miami Hurricanes this weekend at the Professional Football Association (PFA) All-Star Bowl in Orlando, Florida.

Stewart, a walk-on receiver who attained a role as a key performer on special teams and as a reserve wideout over the last four seasons at UM, was one of the team’s top scholar-athletes throughout his career. A graduate of UM with a degree in finance, Stewart is currently attending graduate courses at UM with the eventual goal of attending UM’s prestigiout School of Law.

The PFA All-Star Bowl is held at the same location and time as the NFL Europe training camp. To play in the PFA Bowl a player must have completed his college football eligibility and be considered a player with the ability to play in the league. This game is an showcase to compete in front of the NFL Europe teams.

Representatives of those teams will be on hand, in addition to other pro teams and leagues which receive invitations complete with rosters and game information. Players that do not sign with a pro team right out of college can be selected to the PFA Bowl for valuable exposure to pro football. Teams from the NFL, CFL, and Arena League also attend NFL Europe training camp and receive game invitations with team rosters and game data.
