Hurricanes Take Advantage Of Good Weather In Wednesday Practice

Oct. 4, 2000

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – After a deluge that drenched most of south Florida Tuesday and caused practice to be shortened slightly, the skies cleared Wednesday and the Miami Hurricanes (No. 7 AP/No. 8 ESPN/USA Today) worked for more than two hours in preparation for their upcoming clash with top-ranked Florida State (No. 1 AP/No. 2 ESPN/USA Today).

“It was a good practice today,” said head coach Butch Davis. “We really needed the efficiency today, and to come out and work on some things particularly in the passing game and the kicking game. We had an extra 10 or 15 minutes of practice today to catch up on some things (missed in Tuesday’s weather-shortened practice). We had cut out some peripheral things (Tuesday) and came back and took care of those today.”

Senior defensive lineman Damione Lewis (foot) returned to practice after missing work while cornerback Leonard Myers (foot) missed practice. Fullback Will McPartland (concussion) also sat out practice.

The Hurricanes continue practice Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Greentree. All practices are closed to the public. For ticket information concerning Hurricanes football, contact the UM Ticket Office at (305) 284-2263 or 1-800-GO-CANES. Tickets may also be ordered online at www.hurricanesports.com.
