Sept. 13, 2000
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The Miami Hurricanes football team worked out for two hours Wednesday afternoon in a spirited practice at the Greentree Practice Field on the UM campus. The Hurricanes, who have an open date this Saturday before opening BIG EAST Conference action at West Virginia on September 23, were intense and physical throughout the first practice session of the week.
“Today we spent the majority of the practice on us, trying to make ourselves a more efficient, disciplined, tougher, physical football team,” said head coach Butch Davis.
On the injury front, offensive lineman Sherko Haji-Rassouli, and defensive back Maurice Sikes have returned to action after nursing injuries.
The Hurricanes continue practice Thursday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. and plan another workout Friday afternoon at 3:30 before taking the weekend off. All practices are closed to the public.
