Miami Continues Preparations For Clash With Huskies

Sept. 5, 2000

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – The fourth-ranked Miami Hurricanes worked through another solid two-hour practice Tuesday afternoon at the Greentree Practice Field on the UM campus as preparations continued for the clash with 15th-ranked Washington this Saturday in Seattle. ABC will televise the game to most of the nation with kickoff slated for 3:30 p.m. Eastern time.

“One of the most obvious things we’ve seen is that we’ve got more familiarity with their offense, largely due to the extra day of practice,” said head coach Butch Davis. “Guys seem to be grasping what (Washington) does from certain formations. One of the most frightening things for any defense is the capabilities of their quarterback (Marques Tuiasosopo). He can do so many things to get your defense off balance, and it’s impossible to duplicate in practice. But, we’ve had a good week of practice and I’m pleased to this point.”

The Hurricanes return to practice Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. All practices are closed to the public. For ticket information concerning Hurricanes football, contact the UM Ticket Office at (305) 284-2263 or 1-800-GO-CANES. Tickets may also be ordered online.
