Tuesday's Second Football Practice Moves Indoors
Aug. 15, 2000
CORAL GABLES, Fla. (www.hurricanesports.com) – Head coach Butch Davis and the Miami Hurricanes moved their Tuesday afternoon practice to the evening, beginning at 7 p.m., but the team was forced to cut the session short and move indoors to the Knight Sports Complex after rain and lightning encroached on the Greentree Practice Field.
“We decided to give the team a little more recovery time after this morning’s scrimmage and had planned to just have a walk-through this evening,” said head coach Butch Davis. “Everyone’s been working hard and a light afternoon helps them recover. We’ll still be able to get some things done in the gym, but we don’t want to jeopardize anyone in this weather.”
The bad weather put an unceremonious end to the open to the public portion of the Hurricanes’ preseason schedule. Two-a-day practices will continue Wednesday with sessions slated for 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Workouts are closed to the public.
