You’re on a sinking ship. Your family is already safe on a raft. What items do you want to take with you?
I would have to go back in and get my picture albums, because my family takes a lot of pictures. I would also like to have my fishing rod. I can’t lose all of my fishing equipment at one time.

Name one player you would not want to go up against if your soul was on the line.
John Randell. He plays for the Minnesota Vikings, so I watched him play everyday and I wouldn’t want to go up against him.

Who in your family do you idolize?
That would be my brother. He’s four years older than I am. My whole life I have tried to be like him, he played football, I played football, he played baseball, I played baseball. And so on.

Some people would be surprised to learn this about you.
I like to fish a lot!

Last time you were amazed about one of your accomplishments.
Looking back at High School, my diploma and how much work it took to get there.

Who do you think is the best player ever at your position?
Joe Montana, but I also like John Elway. I have tried to copy some of the things Elway does, but Montana was probably the best player ever.

How would you want the fans to remember you after you leave UM?
I’d like to have them remember me as a good quarterback, and also as a good person.

You have been re-incarnated. What athlete or entertainer would you be?
John Elway. Now that he is retired he’s got everything. He can just sit back, relax, go fishing, and live in the mountains.

What do you think was the greatest sports moment of the past century?
After the New York Yankees won the world series last season. All the celebration stuff that they had to go through seemed like a lot of fun. I remember Paul O’Neil holding the trophy right after his dad died. That was pretty touching.

What is your favorite TV show?
The Simpsons or Seinfeld.

What player did you pretend to be while growing up?
In football it was John Elway, but in baseball I was Ken Griffey Jr.
