Baseball Hosts Harvard Tonight At 7 p.m.

Coral Gables, FL – The University of Miami baseball team (23-9-1), ranked No. 13 in the Baseball Weekly/ESPN Coaches’ Poll, take on Ivy League member Harvard on Thursday, March 30 at 7 p.m. at Mark Light Stadium on the UM campus.
UM’s flagship station WQAM 560 AM and student radio WVUM 90.5 FM will broadcast the game live. Tickets can also be purchased prior to the game at the Hecht Athletic Center at 5821 San Amaro Drive on the UM campus or before the game at Mark Light Stadium. The Hurricanes are riding a three-game win streak and are 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. Miami is led by freshman third baseman Kevin Howard, who leads the team with a .424 batting average and 42 hits. Senior RHP David Gil (4-1, 2.91 ERA) will start for the Hurricanes on the mound.
Harvard will play two games against Minnesota-Morris and St. Thomas on Wednesday, March 29 prior to coming to Coral Gables. The Crimson enter those two games with a 4-8 record, with wins coming against Wright State, Kansas State and Wisconsin-River Falls (2) at the 2000 Homestead Challenge.
Miami will meet Harvard for the eighth time in the all-time series dating back to the 1974 season with the Hurricanes leading 6-1. Miami earned a win, 4-1, in its first meeting against the Crimson in its first trip to the College World Series in Omaha, NE during that 1974 season. Most recently, UM has taken five of six meetings at Mark Light Stadium from the 1997 and ’98 seasons.
