Following the practice, Head Coach Butch Davis summed up the week’spractice. He also acknowledged the danger of a letdown vs. Florida A&Mafter a 23-12 win over Ohio State last week at the Kickoff Classic.
“I thought our players for the most part have done a very good job,”said Davis. “There are some areas of our football team that we definitelyhave to make some improvements. We have to play better on special teams andwe have to cut down on the penalties, the mistakes and turnovers. This(FAMU) will be a challenge. Those kids (FAMU) will be coming down here withthe idea that they’re going to win this football game. Our team better bementally prepared to play.
“Good football teams play well regardless,” added Davis. “Games aregreat opportunities for teams to make progress. I would be verydisappointed if our football team didn’t go out on the field and play verywell on Saturday night.”
