Miami Finishes Kickoff Classic Preparation

CORAL GABLES, FL – The 12th-ranked University of Miami football teamconcluded preparations for Sunday’s Kickoff Classic meeting against No. 9Ohio State with a two-hour full pad practice in hard rain at the GreentreePractice Facility.

The Hurricanes began the practice with agility and stretching beforebreaking off into position segments. Practice concluded with a half-hour of11-on-11 scrimmaging.

“We were able to practice on our quarterback/center exchanges,” said HeadCoach Butch Davis about practicing in the rain. “It (the rain) helped uslot, because there is a very good likelihood that we might be playing in therain this weekend. To be honest with you, I am very thankful to have theopportunity to practice in these conditions. This was the first time we sawrain during a practice this fall.”

The weather forecast for East Rutherford, NJ, this weekend calls forisolated thunderstorms on Saturday and partly cloudy on gameday Sunday.

The Kickoff Classic will air nationally at 2:30 p.m. on ABC. WQAM560 AM will carry the broadcast in Miami, with UM’s Spanish broadcast airingon WACC 830 AM and Student Radio on WVUM 90.5 FM.
