Jack Olszewski is in his first year with the Miami Hurricanes baseball team, as a quality control analyst.
Olszewski is responsible for building systems and processes to collect and analyze data on the Hurricanes, their opponents and prospective student-athletes.
He previously worked for MLB in its data quality department, where he helped usher in the innovative Hawk-Eye bat tracking system.
Olszewski also served as director of analytics for the Upper Valley Nighthawks of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, supported Dartmouth graduate public health students as a statistical teaching assistant and worked as a baseball video scout for Sports Info Solutions.
His research was selected to be presented at the 2023 Sabermetrics, Scouting and the Science of Baseball conference in Chicago.
A Vermont native, Olszewski graduated from the University of Vermont with a B.S. in data science.
