Carl Sundberg named Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week

Carl Sundberg (Jr., Oslo, Norway), currently ranked No. 110 in the Campbell’s/ITA singles poll, has been named this week’s Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week.  The All-American Sundberg went undefeated in both singles and doubles play over the weekend to help the Hurricanes to a three-match win streak and to their first ACC road wins of the season. He won a pair of singles matches at No. 2 – for his first ACC singles wins of the season – and added a pair of victories at No. 3 doubles with Ignacio Taboada in their first conference competition of 2010. Sundberg defeated Maryland’s John Collins in three sets, 6-1, 3-6, 6-2. He earned a win over Boston College’s Erik Kreutzer in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Sunberg and his partner Taboada won 8-4 over Maryland’s John Collins and Jesse Kiuru at No. 3 doubles. Sundberg and Taboada defeated Boston College’s Thomas Nolan and Adam Davison, 8-6.
