The Hurricanes are 8-0 at the BankUnited Center this season – including wins over Boston College, West Virginia and Ole Miss – and have won 20 consecutive non-conference regular season games at home. Over the last four seasons the Hurricanes have compiled a 46-10 (.821) record at home, and are 76-27 (.738) at home overall under head coach Frank Haith — including nine wins over ranked opponents. The Hurricanes have notched double-digit home wins at the BankUnited in the last three-straight seasons and six times in seven full seasons calling the arena home.

QUICK HITS Miami is the only team to have two scorers among the ACC’s top 10 and three scorers among the ACC’s top 20 in Malcolm Grant (15.0 ppg, 8th), Durand Scott (14.2 ppg, 9th) and Reggie Johnson (12.1 ppg, 20th). Boston College is the only other ACC school with three players among the ACC’s top 20 scoring leaders (with one in the top 10). The `Canes, who have won five of its last seven games and 10 of its last 13, host consecutive ACC games for the first time this season and will play two of its next three and four of its next six at the BankUnited Center.

Averaging 2.3 three-pointers per game — sixth in the ACC, Adrian Thomas is on pace to climb into UM’s top five in career threes by the end of the regular season. With 150 entering Wednesday’s game versus Florida State, he is ninth in the record books, but is on track to hit 182, which would put him in fifth place.

Malcolm Grant and Reggie Johnson are among the most improved scorers in the ACC. After posting 6.4 points per game as a redshirt freshman in 2010, Johnson’s average has leapt 5.7 points per game to 12.1 points an outing this season. Grant’s average has increased 5.4 points per game, going from 9.6 points an outing as a redshirt sophomore in 2010 to a team-high 15.0 points per game this season.

Durand Scott has netted double figures in eight-straight games to tie for the sixth longest active streak in the league.

Reggie Johnson grabs a team-high 23.9 percent of the available rebounds when he is on the court — 27.4 percent of the defensive boards (14th in the nation) and 20.2 percent of the offensive boards (third-best in the nation). UM’s second most active player on the glass is Raphael Akpejiori, who pulls down 19.4 percent of the rebounds when he’s in the game.

With 123 points scored in 17 games this season (7.2 points per game), Garrius Adams has surpassed the 121 total points he scored as a freshman over 32 games in 2009-10.

In just his second season as a `Cane, Malcolm Grant’s 103 career three-pointers rank 11th among active ACC players, while his 41.5 percent career three-point field goal percentage ranks third in UM’s record book.

THE SERIESLong time opponents, Florida State leads the all-time series over Miami, 36-28, including edging the Hurricanes 61-60 in their last meeting in the BankUnited Center on March 6, 2010, to close the 2009-10 regular season. In that game, the Hurricanes rallied from a 10-point deficit with 5:32 remaining in the second half and ran off 12 unanswered points, but it wasn’t enough as FSU’s Luke Loucks hit a three-pointer with 1:52 to go to put the Seminoles ahead for good.

Three Hurricanes scored in double figures in that contest, with Durand Scott finishing with a game-high 14 points. Reggie Johnson added 12 points and four blocks, while Adrian Thomas had 10 points and a pair of steals for UM. Loucks and Deividas Dulkys scored 13 points apeice for FSU, as the `Noles hit 10-of-18 three-pointers and hit 50 percent overall.

At 3-1 in ACC play this season, the Seminoles ride a two-game win streak into Coral Gables, coming off back-to-back home wins over top-ranked Duke (Jan. 12, 66-61) and NC State (Jan. 15, 84-71). FSU’s lone conference loss to date was a 71-59 decision at Virginia Tech on Jan. 8.

Behind the guidance of ninth-year head coach Leonard Hamilton — who served in the same capacity for the Hurricanes from 1990-2000, Florida State is led by Chris Singleton with 15.3 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game and Derwin Kitchen with 10.3 points, 5.7 boards and 3.6 assists per game. The Seminoles lead the nation in field goal percent defense — holding opponents to just 35 percent– and are seventh with 6.4 blocked shots per game.
