1955-1956A senior guard, is a three year letterman who has shown steady improvement. He fakes and drives well and should be at the peak of his career this coming season. He has an accurate one hand push shot which he began to exploit extensively late last year after being rather chary of taking many shots earlier in his career. He scored 134 points as a freshman, slumped to 96 as a sophomore when illness cut short his season, but came back to a fine 301 last year. Dick hit for a .385 average on his field goal tries as a freshman, fell to .333 as a sophomore but rolled back up to .398 last year. His three year percentages from the free throw line are .608, then .720 and, last year, .722. He starts his year with a 531 point total, ninth best in Miami's all time standings. He could become Miami's second 1,000 point man, with a good year.1953-1954Slim 6 foot 1 inch sophomore, hails from the Bronx where he starred for Columbus High. Dick did well with a one hand push shot last year, picking up 134 points as a reserve in 19 games. He did most of his shooting right handed a year ago. Now he is developing a good two hand shot. A hard worker, fast and agile, Dick is a valuable man who should see a lot of service this season and if he continues the accuracy he showed on occasion a year ago, he should wind up as a [last word got cut off].1952-1953Will be a natural for the headline writers if he develops as expected. "Miani wins for Miami" is a sure thing headline. He's from Columbus High in the Bronx, following Sy Chadroff and Sandy Farbor to Miami. The "Duke" was a highly regarded player in his high school days and, aided by a 23 point effort against Vocational, tallied 230 points in his senior year. He's a little green yet, but looks like a comer.
