BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
In his second year in the Miami program after spending 2007 at Santa Fe Community College and 2006 at Manhattan College … Appeared in nine games last season, holding his opponents scoreless in all but one outing … Will once again serve as a key middle reliever for the Hurricanes in 2009 … Has experience as a closer at the college level, lead ing the NJCAA in saves with 13 in 2007 at Santa Fe … One of six seniors on 2009 roster.

JUNIOR SEASON – 2008
•All nine appearances on the season came in relief
•Struck out 10 batters in 10 innings of work on the year
•Held opponents scoreless in eight of nine appearances
•Held opponents to just a .189 batting average against him
•Did not allow a run in ACC play (four appearances, 4.0 IP) – the second-lowest mark on the team behind Kyle Bellamy’s .183
•Struck out a season-high four batters in two innings of work against FAU (4/9)
•Allowed just one extra-base hit all season (2B vs. Saint Mary’s – 5/2)
•Longest outing of the season came at the College World Series, tossing 2 1/3 scoreless innings against Stanford (6/18)
•Held opponents hit-less in five of nine appearances
•One of six returning players with a 2008 ERA under 4.00 (3.60)
•Picked up only win of the season versus Clemson (4/6), holding the Tigers scoreless in 1 1/3 inning of work
•One of just three UM hurlers to not allow a home run all season

SANTA FE COMMUNITY COLLEGE – 2007
•Played for Johnny Wiggs
•Was a teammate of current `Cane Tim Burke
•Led the state and finished second in the country in saves (13)
•Went 3-5 with a 2.64 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 27 appearances

MANHATTAN COLLEGE- 2006
•Started six games and made 14 appearances for the Jaspers
•Helped Manhattan advance to the NCAA Lincoln, Neb. Regional where he faced Miami
•Recorded a 4-2 mark with a 3.04 ERA, 37 strikeouts and two saves in 47.1 innings
•Held opposing batters to just a .224 batting average against him

PREP CAREER
•Played for Joe Weber at Christopher Columbus High School
•Teammate for current Hurricane David Gutierrez and former `Cane Carlos Gutierrez
•Member of the 2003 State Championship team
•Team also won the GMAC and District Championships in 2004 and 2005
•Went 5-3 with a 1.82 ERA his senior season in 2005
•Helped the Explorers advance to regional finals and win a districtchampionship as a senior
•As a junior in 2004, posted a 5-3 mark with a 2.02 ERA
•Helped team win a district championship and advance into regional quarterfinals as a junior
