Selected as the team’s Rookie of the Year at the end-of-year banquet… Finished his first season as a Hurricane with the second-highest batting average on the team (.314)… Played in 62 games while starting in 61… Saw most of his starts in the outfield… Registered a team second-best 74 hits with 11 homers, nine doubles and three triples… Batted in a team third-highest 53 runs… Crossed the plate to score 46 times on the year… Fielded at .948 on the campaign, picking up 68 putouts and five assists from the outfield… Swiped three bases in three attempts on the base paths… Laid down two sacrifice hits and three sac flies… Collected a seven-game hitting streak from Apr. 4 (vs. Wake Forest) through Apr. 14 (at Florida Gulf Coast)… Hit safely in his first six games as a Hurricane, posting a .650 average in that stretch with 13 hits, seven RBI and two home runs…

 

Went 3-for-4 at the dish against Florida (Mar. 6) with a homer, a double, two RBI and two runs scored… Had a four RBI outing in the series finale against Wake Forest (Apr. 4) with a bases-clearing triple and crossing to score one batter later… Also had a 4-for-5 showing versus USF (Apr. 28) driving in four runs with a double, adding two putouts on defense… Finished the Georgia Tech (May 14-16) series 5-for-11 at the plate with two runs, four RBI, a home run and a double… Toted a .421 average in the NCAA Coral Gables Regional with eight hits, two home runs, a triple and scoring three times… Drove in seven runs during that Regional… Had six putouts and an assist in four games in the outfield… Went 2-for-4 in the final game of the season against Florida (June 12) as part of the NCAA Super Regional [Gainesville, Fla.] adding a RBI…

Played for Steve Hertz at Miami Dade College during the 2008-09 seasons… Hit .393 with five home runs and 39 RBI at Miami Dade… Named NJCAA First Team All-Conference and Second Team All-State… Earned MDC’s Outstanding All-Around Student-Athlete Award… Spent the 2007 season at Louisville… Played for Dan McDonnell at Louisville… Played in 34 games and garnered three starts in the outfield during the Cardinals’ run to the 2007 College World Series… Redshirted in 2008…
