Arteaga Announces Fall Game Against Florida Atlantic

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Miami Hurricanes head baseball coach J.D. Arteaga announced Friday a fall game against the Florida Atlantic Owls.

The Hurricanes will host the Owls at 4 p.m. on Oct. 19 at Mark Light Field.

The exhibition will serve as Miami’s lone contest against another university in the fall, but the Hurricanes will participate in the annual orange and Green World Series over the final week of October.

Miami topped FAU in both contests at home during the 2024 spring slate, as the Hurricanes have won six straight regular season games over the Owls in Coral Gables.

Arteaga, who enters his second campaign at the helm of his alma mater, bolstered Miami’s roster with the highest-ranked recruiting class in the ACC.

The Hurricanes’ 2024 class checked in eighth nationally, according to Baseball America.

Miami’s freshmen class is comprised of 16 student-athletes, highlighted by six players mentioned in Baseball America’s top 500 draft prospects in July.

The Hurricanes’ transfer portal class was also listed eighth in the country by 64 Analytics.

Overall, Miami added 31 newcomers to its roster, joining the 12 returning letterwinners, headlined by Freshman All-American Daniel Cuvet.
