Robinson and Haag Obtain ACC Weekly Performance Honors

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Senior jumper Russell Robinson and freshman sprinter Sophie Haag have been named to this week’s track and field performers of the week, the conference announced Tuesday evening.

Robinson earned his second ACC Men’s Field Performer of the Week honors this season while Haag picks up the first weekly honors of her collegiate career as the ACC Women’s Rookie of the Week.

At last week’s Hurricane Alumni Invitational, Robinson bested the competition with a 16.30m leap in the men’s triple jump, good for a first-place finish. The Hurricanes’ star jumper’s mark ranks first in the ACC and second nationally.

Freshman Sophie Haag was in a plethora of events at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational – earning two personal bests in the women’s 100m and 200m.

The Oldsmar, Fla., native clocked 11.59 in the 100m and 23.83 in the 200m. Haag also contributed to the 4x100m relay’s first place finish with a time of 44.89.
