Campre, Robinson and Sauder Earn National Indoor Championship Bids

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Edgar Campre, Russell Robinson, and Kennedy Sauder have earned their way to the 2024 NCAA Division I Indoor Track and Field National Championships based on their elite performances this indoor season.

This year’s indoor national championships will take place from Thursday, March 7 through Saturday, March 9 at The Track at New Balance in Boston, Massachusetts — the same facility that held last week’s ACC Indoor Championships.

Sophomore Edgar Campre is coming off a school record-setting performance in the men’s heptathlon at last week’s ACC Indoor Championships. The Lisbon, Portugal native finished at the top of the podium with 5903 total points, which is currently eleventh in the nation. During his historic performance, Campre set personal bests in five out of the seven events. This will be Campre’s first appearance at the NCAA indoor national championships.

Senior jumper Russell Robinson earned silver at the conference championships, ending with a mark of 16.25m in his signature event, the men’s triple jump. Earlier this season, Robinson broke his own program record of 16.36m at this year’s Corky Classic, where the Hurricanes star triple jumper earned a distance of 16.59m. At last indoor seasons national championships in New Mexico, Robinson earned first-team All-American honors after achieving a 16.30m triple jump, good for eighth.

A transfer from Liberty University, Sauder broke the indoor school record in the men’s high jump at the ACC Indoor Championships, jumping 2.21m, also good for a first-place finish and currently tied tenth nationally. In 2023, while competing for Liberty, Sauder finished 15th at the indoor national championships with a final height of 2.15m, earning second-team All-American honors.
