Alexa Noel Earns ACC Player of the Week

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Redshirt junior Alexa Noel was named ACC Player of the Week, the Atlantic Coast Conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

From Summit, N.J., Noel picked up the honor after taking down No. 1 Mary Stoiana, 6-2, 6-7 (3), 6-3, to tie the match, ultimately leading to a 4-3 win for the Canes over No. 9 Texas A&M.

Prior to that, Noel paired up with Audrey Boch-Collins to claim Miami’s double win on court three, 6-1, against Sydney Fitch and Daria Smetannikov.

The accolade marks the Hurricanes’ first of the season and fifth of Noel’s career.

Miami is back in action on Feb. 23 as they host Duke to open conference play.
