W. Tennis Rises to No. 14 in National Rankings
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team continued its ascent up the ITA rankings.
Miami moved up one place to No. 14, as announced Wednesday morning. That is the top ranking for the Hurricanes since Jan. 25, 2017, when they placed No. 12 in the country.
This past weekend, Miami (7-1, 2-0 ACC) won a pair of matches to begin ACC play, first beating Georgia Tech, then No. 47 and now No. 37, in a 4-3 result Friday night. It then rolled past Clemson, 6-1, Sunday afternoon.
The Hurricanes are once again among 11 ACC teams in the ITA rankings, six of which place top-15. Miami is joined by top-ranked North Carolina, second-ranked NC State, ninth-ranked Duke, No. 12 Virginia, No. 15 Wake Forest, No. 35 Notre Dame, No. 37 Georgia Tech, No. 54 Florida State, No. 65 Louisville and No. 73 Syracuse on the list.

Miami begins ACC road action this weekend, first squaring off with No. 15 Wake Forest in a top-15 showdown Friday at 5 p.m. in Winston-Salem, N.C.
