Men’s Tennis Announces 2021 Slate

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami head men’s tennis coach Aljosa Piric announced Monday the Hurricanes’ schedule for the upcoming spring season.

The Canes will play 18 matches in the regular season, including 12 against ACC foes. Miami’s schedule features nine home affairs, seven road contests and two neutral-site matchups.

Six of the matches are against teams in the ITA’s preseason top 25, with two versus opponents in the top 10.

The Hurricanes open the season in 13 days when they welcome No. 16 UCF to the Neil Schiff Tennis Center (Feb. 7, 1 p.m.).

After hosting the Knights, Miami heads to Tallahassee, Fla., for a pair of neutral site affairs. First, the Canes will take on Auburn (Feb. 13, 11 a.m.) before battling Tulane (Feb. 14, noon) the next day.

The Hurricanes open the ACC season five days later, returning to the Neil Schiff Tennis Center to face Georgia Tech (Feb. 19, 3 p.m.). League play continues two-days later on their home court against Clemson (Feb. 21, 1 p.m.).

Prior to a four-match road stretch, Miami returns to non-conference competition with an in-state contest against FGCU (Feb. 27, 1 p.m.).

Scheduled to play four matches over a six-day stretch, the Hurricanes open March with a meeting against Virginia Tech (March 8, 2:30 p.m.) in Blacksburg, Va., and then No. 22 Virginia (March 9, 2:30 p.m.) in Charlottesville, Va.

After that, Piric’s team heads to the Tar Heel State for a pair of matches on consecutive days, first meeting No. 12 Wake Forest (March 12, 5 p.m.) in Winston-Salem, N.C., and then eighth-ranked NC State (March 13, noon) in Raleigh, N.C.

The Hurricanes then return to Coral Gables for a both a pair of non-conference tilts and ACC contests, first welcoming South Florida (March 20, 1 p.m.) to their home court.

Six days later, Miami hosts Louisville (March 26, 3 p.m.) and Notre Dame (March 28, 1 p.m.), before wrapping up non-conference action at home against Florida Atlantic (April 3, 1 p.m.)

Up next for Miami is a road matchup with in-state rival Florida State (April 8, 5:30 p.m.) in Tallahassee, Fla., before closing out the regular-season home slate against Boston College (April 10, 1 p.m.)

The Hurricanes later conclude league competition in North Carolina, first taking on second-ranked North Carolina (April 16, 3 p.m.) in Chapel Hill, N.C., before taking on No. 23 Duke (April 17, 1 p.m.) in Durham, N.C.

The ACC Tennis Championship is set to take place April 21-25 in Rome, Ga, while NCAA Regionals are scheduled to start May 7-8.
