Three W. Tennis Players in Oracle/ITA Rankings

CORAL GABLES, Fla. The University of Miami women’s tennis team has three individuals in the Oracle/ITA singles rankings and one duo on the doubles list.

Senior Estela Perez-Somarriba paces the Hurricanes at third nationally in singles, the 11th consecutive release in which she has earned a top-three spot.

Sophomore Daevenia Achong moved back into the rankings, jumping all the way to No. 85 in the country. That is just five spots shy of the prior high mark in her career.

In addition, freshman Selma Cadar is also once again featured on the list, placing No. 104 in the country.

The Hurricanes also have a doubles pair in the Oracle/ITA rankings for the first time in 2020, as Achong and Cadar check in at No. 53 overall.

Miami (1-1) is one of just 21 schools in the nation with at least a trio of ranked singles players, just 15 of which are also represented in the doubles rankings.

The Hurricanes resume play Saturday with a doubleheader in Nashville, Tenn., first facing No. 13 Vanderbilt at 11:30 a.m. ET before traveling across town to play Tennessee State at 5 p.m. ET.
