W. Tennis Garners ITA Academic Honors
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The ITA released Thursday its academic accolades for the 2018-19 season and the University of Miami women’s tennis team was well represented.
For the fifth straight year, the Hurricanes earned ITA All-Academic Team honors. The accolade goes to programs whose players have a combined cumulative GPA of 3.20 for the full academic year, a number Miami easily surpassed with a 3.478 number.
In addition, four Hurricanes received ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, a plaudit given to varsity letter winners with a GPA of at least 3.50.
Freshman Daevenia Achong, senior Ana Madcur, junior Estela Perez-Somarriba and senior Daniella Roldan all made the cut. It is the fourth such honor for Madcur, as well as third each for Perez-Somarriba and Roldan.
