Blagg Named Honorable Mention All-America in 1M
AUSTIN, Texas — University of Miami redshirt sophomore Alicia Blagg captured the first NCAA postseason recognition of her career Thursday night, earning Honorable Mention All-America distinction in the 1-meter springboard.
Making her NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships debut at the Lee & Joe Jamail Texas Swimming center on the University of Texas campus, Blagg finished 14th overall in the 1-meter.
The Great Britain native, who finished the morning’s preliminary round with 292.45 points, jumped up a spot in the final round to take sixth place in the consolation finals.
Blagg, who won a pair of gold medals at the 2019 ACC Swimming & Diving Championships in March, qualified for the NCAA Championships with an impressive performance at Zone B trials in Auburn, Ala., last week.
She will compete in the 3-meter springboard on Friday, with preliminaries set for the morning in Austin and finals set for Thursday night.
