Scapens Earns Honorable Mention All-America Recognition
INDIANAPOLIS — Diver Brodie Scapens took third in the consolation final of the 3-meter springboard Friday evening to cap his run at the 2024 NCAA Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships.
Scapens, who earned Honorable Mention All-America honors for the second straight day, finished with a score of 394.60. The Australia native earned a spot in the consolation finals after ending in 16th place in the preliminary round at the IU Natatorium.
After a strong opening day Thursday, both Scapens (356.65) and Mohamed Farouk (298.35) competed in the 3-meter prelims Friday morning.
Farouk picked up NCAA All-America honors on the 1-meter springboard by finishing fifth nationally Thursday, while Scapens was 15th. It was the second All-America honor of Farouk’s career, and first on the 1-meter.
Farouk will compete in the platform Saturday to cap Miami’s run at the 2024 NCAA Championships.
