CORAL GABLES, Fla. – A quartet of University of Miami men’s tennis student-athletes have been named to the 2018 Saint Francis Health System/ITA Men’s All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla.
Sophomore Adria Soriano-Barrera was one of 46 national picks and 10 ACC selections for the Saint Francis Health System/ITA Men’s All-American Championships main draw.
Soriano wrapped up his freshman campaign ranked No. 77 in the country, the best mark by a Miami freshman since 2002. A Second Team All-ACC pick, the Barcelona, Spain, native went 13-8 in dual matches, including notching a 9-5 mark at the No. 2 spot.
Joining Soriano in Tulsa, sophomore Bojan Jankulovski will compete in the Saint Francis Health System/ITA Men’s All-American Championships qualifying draw for the second straight season. Last spring, Jankulovski led the Canes with a 20-6 record, including a team-best 9-2 mark in ACC action. Playing in the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 spots, the lefty was responsible for clinching a pair of Hurricanes’ victories over top-25 teams, grabbing the decisive victories against No. 23 NC State and No. 22 Duke.
Redshirt junior Dane Dunlap and junior Stephen Madonia were selected to the Saint Francis Health System/ITA Men’s All-American Championships pre-qualifying draw.
Dunlap wrapped up the spring season with 12 victories, mostly playing at the No. 3 and 4 spot. Madonia enters his first season with the Hurricanes after transferring from the University of Florida. Competing at the 2017 ITA All-American Championships, the junior wrapped up the tournament with a 2-2 mark.
In the doubles qualifier, Soriano and Madonia are set to team-up.
