Lomacki, Andrews and Flores Listed in Final ITA Rankings
CORAL GABLES, FLA. – University of Miami men’s tennis player Piotr Lomacki concluded his junior campaign ranked No. 63 in the ITA singles rankings, released Wednesday.
Playing No. 1, Lomacki led the Canes with 12 singles wins, earning a quintet of victories against fellow ranked opponents. In non-conference play, the junior defeated then-No. 51 Jack Findel-Hawkins of North Florida, 6-1, 6-1, before taking down Minnesota’s then-No. 68 Matic Spec, 3-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5).
In conference play, the native of Warsaw, Poland, defeated North Carolina’s then-No. 19 Ronnie Schneider, 7-5, 6-4, Notre Dame’s then-ranked No. 54 Josh Hagar, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, and Duke’s then-ranked No. 89 Spencer Furman, 6-7 (3-7), 6-1, 1-0 (10-7).
Joining Lomacki for the sixth and final time, seniors Max Andrews and Jesse Flores form the country’s No. 58 doubles tandem.
On the season, the Canes’ duo knocked off three ranked opponents including a victory over the nation’s then-top-ranked team, Skander Mansouri and Christian Seraphim, 6-4.
