Miami to Host Boston College and Notre Dame
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis program returns to the Neil Schiff Tennis Center for a pair of conference matches against unranked opponents, Boston College and Notre Dame.
The Canes enter the weekend following a four-match road stretch and six consecutive matches against top-40 teams ranked in the ITA polls.
Miami (6-9, 0-6) will enter the weekend with a trio of Canes represented in the ITA rankings, with junior Piotr Lomacki rising to No. 51 in singles, as announced Tuesday.
Joining Lomacki, following their upset victory over the top-ranked doubles team in the nation, seniors Max Andrews and Jesse Flores are the No. 56 doubles tandem in the country.
Friday’s 3 p.m., matchup will mark the 13th meeting between the Hurricanes and Eagles (4-11, 0-6 ACC), with UM leading the all-time series, 11-1. Riding a four match-winning streak in the series, Miami won the most recent matchup against Boston College, 4-3, on March 18, 2016.

Then-No. 28 Lomacki took down Aidan McNulty, 6-4, 6-1, while Andrews defeated Hank Workman, 6-2, 6-1. Flores earned the third point when he won against Jeffrey Melvin, 6-3, 6-1.
Sunday’s noon matchup will mark the 28th meeting between the Hurricanes and the Fighting Irish, as UM leads the all-time series, 16-11. Miami dropped its most recent matchup at then-No. 51 Notre Dame, 5-2, on March 20, 2016.
In last season’s matchup, a trio of matches featured six individuals returning to the courts this season in Coral Gables. Eddy Covalschi took down Andrews, 6-3, 6-2, 6-3, while Josh Hager defeated Flores, 6-4, 6-1. Junior Kevin Bondar also came up short against Grayson Broadus, 1-6, 6-7 (5).
