@CanesWTennis Travels to No. 8 Georgia Tech

CORAL GABLES, Fla. The University of Miami women’s tennis team is set to play its first ACC road match of the season Tuesday at 3 p.m., at eighth-ranked Georgia Tech.

For No. 27 Miami, the matchup with the Yellow Jackets at Ken Byers Tennis Complex will be its third contest of the season against a top-10 opponent, with each coming away from home.

The Hurricanes are 11-11 all-time against Georgia Tech, with a 4-3 mark n the road. Miami has won eight of the past nine meetings overall, including each of the last six.

Miami beat Georgia Tech twice last season, posting a 7-0 home victory over the then-No. 24 Yellow Jackets on Jan. 29, 2016 and then topping the then-No. 15 Yellow Jackets, 4-2, in the ACC Championship semifinals on April 23, 2016.

Entering Tuesday’s matchup, Miami (4-4, 3-0 ACC) has two nationally-ranked singles players, with junior Sinead Lohan checking in seventh in the country and freshman Estela Perez-Somarriba at No. 66.

For Georgia Tech (13-2, 4-0 ACC), Rasheeda McAdoo leads a trio of ranked singles players, checking in at No. 52 in the nation. Paige Hourigan follows her at No. 91 and Kenya Jones places No. 95.

In doubles, McAdoo and Johnnise Renaud join together to form the No. 14 duo on the ITA’s list for a team that has won seven straight matches.
