Lomacki and Andrews Rise to No. 38 in ITA Rankings
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The second in-season ITA singles and doubles rankings were released Tuesday afternoon as the University of Miami men’s tennis team prepares for its next match against in-state rival FGCU.
Junior Piotr Lomacki once again is the lone Cane represented in the ITA singles poll, sitting at No. 70.
Playing No. 1, Lomacki is 4-1 to start his junior campaign, earning victories over North Florida’s No. 51 Findel-Hawkins, FAU’s Andrei M-Kougoucheff, Clemson’s Alex Favrot and Troy’s Andy Lau. The native of Poland’s lone loss came against third-ranked Nunos Borges of Mississippi State.
In doubles, Lomacki is joined by his senior teammate Max Andrews, as the duo rises to No. 38 in the ITA rankings.
Miami (3-3), which dropped its ACC opener against Clemson, 4-3, on Sunday will look to rebound this weekend, when it welcomes FGCU to the Neil Schiff Tennis Center Saturday at 3 p.m.
