@CanesWTennis Ranked No. 21 by ITA
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami women’s tennis team is ranked No. 21 nationally this week, as announced Wednesday by the ITA.
Miami (1-2) dropped a 5-2 road decision last week at Texas, then No. 18 and now No. 16. Both of the Hurricanes’ defeats this year have come to teams currently in the top 16.
The Hurricanes are, for the second week in a row, one of four ACC teams included among the ITA’s top 25.
Along with their ranking from the ITA, Miami checks in at No. 23 in the USTA’s poll, which had its first-ever release just one week ago.
Singles and doubles rankings were not updated by the ITA this week. The next such release will come Feb. 21, when rankings announcements switch to Tuesday.
The Hurricanes’ next match is set for Feb. 21 at 10 a.m., when they host Florida State at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center to open ACC play.
