#ProCanes Report - 10/3/16
The Monday #ProCanes Report will weed through all the NFL highlights and news to bring you the information you care about the most… what the former University of Miami Hurricanes did during the week prior. #ProCanes took their dominance to a global level Sunday, as three touchdowns were scored by Hurricanes in the Indianapolis / Jacksonville game in London. Read on for more from across the NFL.
Jimmy Graham (Seattle Seahawks) – six catches, 113 yards
It should come as no surprise that four weeks into the NFL season, the top two tight ends in the NFL yardage-wise are both #ProCanes from #TightEndU. Graham had his second straight 100-yard game in Sunday’s 27-17 win over the New York Jets, hauling in six receptions totaling 113 yards. After making an impressive return from a ruptured patellar tendon that cost him the second half of the 2015 season, Graham’s 266 receiving yards now rank second only to Greg Olsen.
Frank Gore (Indianapolis Colts) – 16 carries, 68 yards, 1 touchdown
Indianapolis Colts’ five-time Pro Bowler Frank Gore made history Sunday in London, moving into 10th place in all-time rushing yards in NFL history with 68 yards in a 30-27 loss to Jacksonville. Gore, who now has 12,293 career rushing yards, passed fellow #ProCanes legend Edgerrin James, along with Marshall Faulk and Marcus Allen, to crack the prestigious top 10. Gore, who had a touchdown run in the fourth quarter, is 20 yards away from moving past Jim Brown into ninth place.
Artie Burns (Pittsburgh Steelers) – three tackles, two pass breakups
Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Artie Burns continues to make plays in his rookie season, and had another impressive performance Sunday night in a 43-14 rout of Kansas City. Burns was credited with three tackles and two pass breakups in the win, including an impressive play on a long pass attempt where he showed off his elite speed. Burns has four pass breakups and eight tackles on the season, and has received increased playing time for the Steelers defense on a weekly basis.
Allen Hurns (Jacksonville Jaguars) – two catches, 47 yards, 42-yard touchdown
The Jaguars were off to a 0-3 start entering their game in London, but a 30-27 win over division rival Indianapolis was clinched on a late touchdown reception from Allen Hurns. The 42-yard score was an impressive display of Hurns playmaking abilities, as he dodged several defenders on a short pass on the way to the endzone. Fellow #ProCanes receiver Phillip Dorsett of the Colts hauled in a 67-yard touchdown to make things interesting late, but Hurns and the Jaguars held on for the victory.
