CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis program continue its 2016 spring slate on Thursday, March 3 when they host No. 18 Michigan at 12 p.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

Miami is now 5-3 in its spring campaign. The Canes will be looking to expand their four-match win streak after defeating Davidson College, 7-0, Tuesday March 1.

This will be the 21st meeting between Miami and Michigan, with the Canes posting a 20-1 all-time record against the Wolverines. The last meeting came on March 1 in 2001, when Miami took on Michigan at home. The Canes defeated the No. 35 ranked Wolverines 7-0.

In the most recent update of the ITA rankings, Miami sees two Canes stay among the top 100, No. 78 Piotr Lomacki and No. 81 Christian Langmo. The Wolverines come to Coral Gables with a 9-2 record for the spring. Michigan has one ranked singles player, Jathan Malik at No. 60.

“Obviously Michigan is a great team and we hope to play against them really well, and give ourselves a really good shot,” said head coach Marion Rincon.

The Canes will begin conference play on Sunday when they take on in-state ACC rival, No. 47 Florida State on March 6 at 3 p.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
