Lomacki Wins in Singles & Doubles at Futures
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – University of Miami sophomore Piotr Lomacki won both his singles and doubles match Tuesday in the main draw of the USTA Futures in Birmingham, Ala.
Lomacki, representing his home country of Poland, defeated American Patrick Daciek in three tough sets, 7-6 (5), 6-7 (3), 6-2 in his first singles match of the main draw. Lomacki, ranked No. 894 in the International Tennis Federation polls, will face No. 655, 8-seed Alexios Halebian, of the United States in the second round, on Wednesday.
In doubles, Lomacki paired with Jared Hiltzik to take down Grayson Goldin and Korey Lovett in two sets, 6-1, 6-4. The pair will battle Dominic Cotrone and Alex Rybakov in the Quarterfinals.
