Four Canes in ITA All-American Championship

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Four University of Miami men’s tennis players will be competing against the nation’s top Division I players this week in the 2015 Saint Francis Health System ITA Men’s All-American Championships held in Tulsa, Okla.

Sophomore Piotr Lomacki will compete in the main draw singles event, beginning Thursday, and will pair up with junior Max Andrews in the doubles qualifier draw which begins Monday. Sophomore Christian Langmo is participating in the singles qualifier bracket while Andrews and junior Jesse Flores will be playing the pre-qualifier on Saturday.

As a rookie last season, Lomacki won three straight singles matches to qualify for the main draw, where he faced the No. 1 seed from Baylor. Lomacki, who was ranked No. 788 in ATP at the time, was defeated in three sets by then-No. 738 Julian Lenz in first-round action. Lomacki was the first Hurricane to play in the main draw of the ITA All-American Championships since 2008, when former All-American Daniel Vallverdu was the No. 3 seed overall.

Pre-qualifying matches are slated to begin on Saturday, Oct. 3, with qualifying matches starting on Oct. 5 and main draw contests getting underway on Oct. 8. The singles and doubles finals are scheduled for Oct. 12.

This marks the 11th straight year that the University of Tulsa will serve as the official tournament host, and most of the action during the two-week event will take place on the courts of the Michael D. Case Tennis Center. Live video for each match at the Michael D.
