@CanesFutbol a 2014-15 NSCAA Academic Team
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced Monday its 2014-15 recipients of the NSCAA Academic College Team Award and the University of Miami was among them.
It marked the 11th-consecutive year the Hurricanes garnered the accolade, a streak that dates back to 2005.
“I am very proud of this team,” Miami head coach Mary-Frances Monroe said. “Not only are they committed to the hours of training, video, community service, travel, and so much more, but they are committed in the classroom. I am surrounded by true student-athletes competing at the highest level.”
The NSCAA Academic Team Award is given to programs that post a team GPA of at least 3.0. The Hurricanes had a 3.37 team GPA in 2014-15 and have now received the NSCAA honor 12 of the past 13 seasons.
Miami was among 10 schools in the 14-team Atlantic Coast Conference to make the list for the 2014-15 school year. The full list of honorees can be found HERE.
The Hurricanes continue the 2015 season Friday at 8:00 p.m. when they host No. 16 Notre Dame at Cobb Stadium.
