Canes Fans,
This past weekend we had our first ACC game vs. Wake Forest. For our incoming group it was the first conference game as a college soccer player. Therefore, our returners prepared the youngsters for this important part of the season. This is when every game becomes more serious and intense because the competition we face from here on out is of the best caliber.
On Friday, we had to learn it the hard way by losing our first conference match at Wake Forest. Coming from a three-match winning streak, our team had lots of positive energy going into the game. Unfortunately, Wake Forest had an early goal which set the tone of the game and made coming back a difficult task. However, we collected ourselves and started playing more organized. It is great to see that this team does not give after conceding a goal.
The game ended 3-0 in favor of our opponent from North Carolina. We were disappointed about the result, but we gathered the team together and focused on the positives of the game.
Back in Miami, we had a competitive 4v4 tournament with integrated fitness on Monday. After practice on Tuesday the team went to our newly opened nutrition center to refuel our bodies from practice before watching game film in the meeting room. We added some individual work in the afternoon in order to prepare for this upcoming weekend.
After our training session on Wednesday morning, we depart to Louisville. The team is excited and ready to get our first conference win this year. Be sure to follow our game and thank you for your support.
