@CanesFutbol Hits the Road to Face Louisville
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami soccer team is set to wrap up its stretch of five road matches in a six-match span when it faces Louisville Thursday night.
The Hurricanes and Cardinals will square off at 7:00 p.m. at Lynn Stadium in Louisville, Ky. in the second-ever ACC meeting between the two sides. They played to a 1-1 double overtime tie last year in Coral Gables.
Miami (3-5-0, 0-1-0 ACC) enters the contest having won three of its last four matches, with two of those victories on the road. The Hurricanes had a stretch of 307 minutes over its last five matches during which they allowed just one goal and it came off a penalty kick.
Under the direction of third-year head coach Mary-Frances Monroe, 20 different Hurricanes have seen playing time this year and 11 of the 18 field players to take the pitch have recorded a point. Miami has logged 14 more shots and three more shots on goal than its opponents through eight matches.
Louisville enters the match sporting a 3-4-1 record on the season, including a 0-1-0 mark in ACC play. The Cardinals went 7-9-2 (3-5-2 ACC) during their 2014 campaign.
Thursday’s match in the Bluegrass State will be broadcast live on ESPN3 HERE and live stats can be found HERE. The tilt at Louisville also marks the Hurricanes’ final road match before opening a four-match homestand Sunday at 1:00 p.m. against Clemson, which will also be Jill Ellis Celebration Game.
