CORAL GABLES, Fla. – After another undefeated week in ACC play, the University of Miami women’s tennis team has retained its No. 14 ITA national ranking.

The Hurricanes have been ranked in the top 15 in the country all but one week this year and have posted an 8-2 record on the season, including 4-0 in ACC matches. Three of Miami’s ACC victories have come via a 7-0 shutout.

Last week, Miami won 7-0 at Syracuse, then No. 67, and followed that up with a 5-2 victory at Boston College, then No. 45.

Miami is one five ACC schools ranked in the top 25 this week, tied for the second most of any conference. Four of those five teams are in the top 15, tied for the most of any league.

Junior Stephanie Wagner, named the ACC Player of the Week Tuesday afternoon, leads a quintet of Hurricanes featured in the singles rankings. The Amberg, Germany native moved up three places to seventh in the country.

Freshman Sinead Lohan rose eight spots to the No. 37 position and junior Clementina Riobueno, last week’s ACC Player of the Week, checks in at No. 63. Senior Lina Lileikite is ranked No. 108 and freshman Wendy Zhang holds the No. 112 spot.

On the doubles list, Wagner and Lileikite are ranked eighth nationally by the ITA and have been in the top 10 all season long. Riobueno and senior Monique Albuquerque team together at No. 19 and have been ranked in the top 20 the whole year.

Wagner is one of just four players in the country ranked in the top 10 in both singles and doubles, and is the lone ACC player in that quartet.

Miami will play its third of four straight road matches Sunday, March 15 in Atlanta when it takes on No. 51 Georgia Tech at 10:30 a.m.
