Men's Tennis Wraps Up USTA Clay Court Invite
ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s tennis team wrapped up competition in the singles consolation draw during day three at the USTA Clay Court Invitational presented by Visit Florida at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Fla.
Both freshman Kevin Bondar and senior Wilfredo Gonzalez were in action in the singles consolation draw. After losing the first, Bondar came back to push the match to three sets but was able to close out the match falling to Jack Haffey from host Florida State, 6-4, 6-7(1), 1-0(1).
Gonzalez, a native of Guatemala City, Guatemala, won his first set, but lost the second and battled in the third, but could not finish, falling to Tomas Hanzlik from Penn State, 1-6, 6-3, 1-0(6).
The Hurricanes will be back in action at the Florida Invitational hosted by the University of Florida in Gainesville, Fla., from Nov. 6-9.
