No. 65 Tennis to Host No. 58 Wisconsin Monday

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The No. 65 Miami Hurricanes are slated to face No. 58 Wisconsin at 11 a.m. Monday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

Miami (9-4) enters the match playing at a high level of late, stringing together three straight victories, which ties a season-high, and winning six of their last seven matches.

The Badgers (8-4) are also playing their best tennis of the season, winning five of their last six matches, including victories over No. 54 Denver and No. 59 Marquette. The only defeat during the stretch was a 5-2 loss at No. 47 Minnesota. Wisconsin has played against seven nationally ranked opponents this season, but have only won three of those contests.

Senior Diego Soto leads all Canes with 11 singles wins so far this spring, followed by fellow senior Omar Aly who has posted 10 victories.

Miami has faced four ranked opponents so far this season, winning two of those matches. The most recent was a 5-2 win in Atlanta in their first ACC match of the season against No. 52 Georgia Tech.

Monday’s match will be Wisconsin’s first time competing in nine days. For the Canes, it will be their third match in just five days.

The Hurricanes have enjoyed playing at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center—they boast an 8-2 home record. Wisconsin is winless on the road.

This will be Miami’s penultimate nonconference match as nine of their following 10 games will be against ACC competition.
