The Tournament
Miami travels to Orange County, Calif., to play in the Wooden Legacy Nov. 28 & 29 and Dec. 1. The Canes open the tournament against George Washington at 11 a.m. PDT (2 p.m. ET) on Nov. 28 at Titan Gym on the campus of Cal State Fullerton.

The Series
Miami is 0-2 in the all time series against George Washington, which dates back to the 1970-71 season. The Canes are 0-0 against the Colonials at home, 0-1 at neutral sites and 0-1 on the road. George Washington has defeated Miami 83-81 in Washington D.C. on Feb. 11, 1971 and more recently defeated the Canes 78-64 on Dec. 29, 1991 at the Palm Beach Classic.

Tournament Success
Since the team’s rebirth in 1985, Miami has played in 24 multi-game tournaments with a record of 42-22. In eight tournaments during that timeframe, Miami has won all of its games, including a 4-0 record in the 2010 Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Classic with wins over Stetson, Oral Roberts, Rice and Akron. In the Canes have been 3-0 in three tournaments in recent years: 2009 Charleston Classic (defeated Tulane, UNC Wilmington, South Carolina), 2007 Puerto Rico Tip-Off (Marist, VCU, Providence) and 2001 Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands (Eastern Michigan, UAB, Clemson).

West Coast Swing
Miami hits the road for the West Coast for the first time since 2010, when the Canes defeated Pepperdine, 86-63.

Canes in ACC Stats
Rion Brown is listed in five ACC stats categories so far this season, playing the most minutes of any player in the league. He is also ninth in assist to turnover ratio, 10th in free throw percentage and defensive rebounds and 12th in rebounding. Donnavan Kirk is fourth in blocks, fifth in offensive rebounds and 10th in both rebounding and field goal percentage. Freshman Manu Lecomte is third in free throw percentage and ninth in minutes while Garrius Adams is third in steals. As as team the Canes are second in free throw percentage, third in turnover margin and fourth in steals.

Rion Brown Rebounds
Senior Rion Brown, a 6-6 guard, is averaging 7.2 rebounds, up from his 2.2 career average prior to the season. This season Brown has grabbed seven or more rebounds in four game. In his previous three seasons, he had only three games with 7+ boards. He pulled down seven once last year and had games with eight and seven as a rookie.
