MBB Receiving Votes in USA TODAY Poll

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Miami men’s basketball team is receiving votes in the preseason USA TODAY Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Hurricanes, one of 46 teams listed on the poll, received two votes. 

The last time the Canes were listed in a preseason poll was the 2008-09 season, when Miami was ranked 16th in the USA TODAY and 17th in the AP polls. Miami’s preseason poll history is listed below. Click here for Miami’s Top 25 poll history. 

The ACC has five teams on the list, including No. 6 NC State, No. 8 Duke, No. 12 North Carolina and No. 24 Florida State. Indiana is atop the USA TODAY Coaches Poll, followed by Louisville, Kentucky, Ohio State and Michigan. Miami will face three of the four preseason-ranked ACC schools on the list in the BankUnited Center, as well as No. 14 Michigan State.

The Canes open the season with a Nov. 2 exhibition contest against St. Leo, then start the regular season Nov. 9 at 5:30 p.m. against Stetson at the BankUnited Center.
