Larkin Named Second-Team AP All-America
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – ACC Player of the Year Shane Larkin was named second-team AP All-America on Monday, adding to his already lengthy list of All-America honors.
Larkin, a finalist for the Bob Cousy Award, was named second-team All-America by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) last week. Larkin led the Hurricanes in scoring (14.5), assists (4.6) and steals (1.9). The 2013 ACC Player of the Year was also named to the All-ACC Defensive Team by the league’s coaches and ASCMA.
The Orlando product was one of 21 players named to the 2013 Lefty Driesell Defensive All-America Team on Monday.
Larkin was one of three ACC players named to either the AP first, second or third teams. Duke’s Mason Plumlee joined Larkin on the second team, while Virginia Tech’s Erick Green was named to the third team.
