MTennis Holds No. 54 Spot
CORAL GABLES, Fla. – University of Miami men’s tennis remains the No. 54 ranked program in the country in the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association Poll. The Hurricanes have won four straight games and are 6-2 in its spring campaign.
For the seventh consecutive week this season, the Atlantic Coast Conference represents ten schools currently ranked in the nation’s top-75. The ACC touts top-ranked Virginia, No. 49 Virginia Tech, No. 51 Clemson and No. 66 Georgia Tech, all of whom Miami will host at home. On the road, the Hurricanes will face No. 5 Duke, No. 22 North Carolina, No. 29 Florida State, No. 31 Wake Forest and No. 35 North Carolina State.
Miami remaining No. 54 could be attributed to their week of no competition last week, as their last match was on Feb. 10 against No. 55 South Florida. In that match, the Canes captured the doubles point and tallied four singles wins on their way to a 5-2 victory over the Bulls.
The Hurricanes, 4-0 at home, will look to defend home court against No. 62 North Florida on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center. The Ospreys are 3-4 on the spring season.
